Pillar Centre Organizes a Scientific Lecture about (The Ethics of Supervision between Incentives and Deterrents)

Pillar Centre for Conflict Resolution, International Arbitration and Scientific Research – London, held a scientific lecture entitled of (The Ethics of Supervision between Deterrence and Deterrence), Thursday, via zoom.

Many deans, professors, specialists and experts, and a number of researchers and students from various Arab countries participated in the lecture. The seminar was moderated by Dr. Yasmine Alayan, a specialist in educational psychology and a lecturer at the University of Gaza, and Professor Nani Nabila, a specialist in organizational psychology at the University of Blida 2, Algeria.

Professor Nani reviewed several challenges and problems facing scientific research, such as scientific theft, arrogance of some supervisors and lack of respect for students. In addition to the obstacles and difficulties imposed by supervisors on students and researchers, the exchange of roles between supervisors and compliments or quarrels at the expense of their scientific future. Besides to the psychological pressures that the supervisor feels and reflects on his/ her students, which hinders communication between them.

Moreover, Dr. Yasmine Elyan made several recommendations, the most important of which is to strengthen the mechanisms for reporting academic abuses of all kinds, while exploiting the means of digitization in this, and the need to adopt local and international charters that regulate ethical concepts in the field of academic research, while identifying authentic means of proof. Dr. “Elyan” called for the necessity of adopting a high scientific rank as an aggravating punitive circumstance.

The attendees expressed their happiness with this important meeting, which they considered an addition and an important topic in the context of the problems of scientific research.

Dr. Nermin Al-Borno, the General Director of Pillar Centre, thanked and appreciated Professor Nani Nabila for the wonderful presentation, as well as Dr. Yasmine Elyan for managing the lecture and praised all the attendees.
