“How happy I am to fall asleep in the arms of the Tigris and Euphrates, Kadhimiya and Karkh, that my eyes look upon Adhamiya, and that I breathe the air of Baghdad, that the love of Baghdad overwhelms me. And that the name of Palestine shall be my abode in the one united Iraq. Iraq deepened us, we the people of Palestine, they are our brothers, the support of our backs, our cheeks, and our eternal love.”
